Yangshuo is a small county of Guilin City but a famous tourist destination in China. It is located in the west bank of Lijiang River filled with beautiful natural scenery. It is also the essence of the well-known Guilin Scenery. Although it is a small town without any modern convenient transportation, it is still attracting the arrival of many domestic and foreign travelers by its unique charm.
◎ By Air
Yangshuo doesn't have its own airport. The nearest airport from Yangshuo is Guilin Liangjiang International Airport. Yangshuo is about 96 klilometers away from Guilin Liangjiang International Airport, and about 66 kilometers away from Guilin city. So if you want to fly to Yangshuo, you should fly to Guilin first. You can get a direct taxi from the Airport to Yangshuo (230 to 300 Yuan) which would take more than 1 hour to get there, or you can take the airport bus(operates every 15 minutes) to the city centre and get off at the stop near Guilin Train Station. At the train station square you can take a bus to Yangshuo(15 Yuan). In general Guilin is the main transport hub in the area. Guilin Liangjiang Airport has opened the flights for the main cities in China, such as Beijing, Dalian, Wuhan, Guangzhou, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Xiamen, Shenzhen, Chengdu, Xi’an, Haikou, Kunming, Nanjing, Fuzhou, Hong Kong, etc. There are also international flights available for Bangkok of Thailand, Seoul of South Korea, and Fukuoka of Japan, etc.

In addition, there is no railway station in Yangshuo. The nearest train station from Yangshuo is Guilin Train Station. Visitors need to get to Guilin first by train. At the train station square there is a bus every fifteen minutes go to Yangshuo. As a well-known tourist city in China, Guilin has railway transportation with connections to all wind directions that can reach most cities of China, such as Beijing, Xi’an, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Chengdu, Kunming, etc.
◎ By Bus
For the well-known tourist county, Yangshuo, Buses are the main vehicles getting to it. If the tourists come to Guilin by flight, they can take buses at Guilin Liangjiang Airport to Guilin Railway Station, and then transfer the regular buses to Yangshuo, or chart buses at Guilin Liangjiang Airport directly to Yangshuo. Besides, People can also take buses leading to Yangshuo at Guilin Bus Station, which is located at Zhongshan Road.
Yangshuo Bus Station is located at Pantao Road, near the West Street. Every day from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, buses operate every 15 minutes between Guilin and Yangshuo. Besides, there are regular buses leading to Guilin and all towns. Especially, from Yangshuo County to Gaotian Town and Fuli Town, tourist buses ply.
◎ By Ship
There are Li River cruise ships from Guilin to Yangshuo every day and the operating time is generally from 9:00 to 10:00. You can take this ship at Mopanshan Wharf or Zhujiang Wharf; travel time will be roughly 4 hours or so to reach Yangshuo. Departure time is between 9:00-10:00, and you’ll definitely enjoy the beautiful scenery along Li River during the five hours’ shipping tour.
Getting Around Yangshuo by Local Vehicles
Bicycle is naturally a most popular vehicle for tourists in Yangshuo. Bicycle rental there is charged at day cost according to the type of the vehicle, 5 to 20 CNY (1-3 USD) each day, and the deposit is 200 to 500 CNY (30-75 USD). Electricity-powered motorcycles are also available for rental.

Other vehicles are public bus (electricity-powered due to environmental protection concerns), pedicab and taxi.
