Mausoleum of the First Qin Emperor–Terracotta Army

Mausoleum of the first Qin Emperor is located in the 5km eastern Lingtong county of Shannxi, about 36km away from Xi'an. The mausoleum was divided into two parts: cemetery area and the area of buried with the dead. The cemetery covers an area of 8 square kilometers and 55 meters in height; it is not only the first emperor mausoleum in Chinese history but also the biggest emperor mausoleum.

The Terracotta Army was discovered in 1974 in the eastern suburbs of Xi'an, Shaanxi Province by local farmers drilling a water well 1.5 miles east of Lishan (a mountain). Besides, 2 large bronze casting chariots and horses were excavated in the west side of cemetery in 1980. These discoveries have caused shock and concern all over the world, which were honored as "the eighth wonder of the world". Now the Emperor Qin Shi Huang Terracotta Warriors Museum has formed at No. 1, 2, 3 pits, opening to the outside world.
