Great Mosque

The Great Mosque also known as Huajue Temple or Dongda Temple, is located at Huaiue Lane, northwest comer of the Drum Tower and covers an area of over 12,000 square meters. Its construction began in 742, during the first year of Tianbao reign of the Tang Dynasty. The main buildings include the Grand Hall, Xingxin Tower, Phoenix Pavilion and Chaoyang Hall. The Main Hall can easily hold 1,000 worshipers at the same time. The Great Mosque is a must-see for those who want to kown the history of Muslim in Xian.
