Longsheng Drying Clothes Festival

Drying Clothes Festival (Shai Yi Jie), also known as Dying Garments Festival and the Double Sixth Drying Clothes Festival, is a traditional fesitival originating in Longsheng, an ethnic county nearby Guilin.
The festival occurs on the 6th day of the 6th month of the lunisolar Chinese calendar. This is the source of the alternative name of Double Sixth Drying Clothes Festival.
The date varies from year to year on the Gregorian calendar. In 2013, this fell on July 13 and in 2014 on July 2. In 2015, it's on July 21. In 2016, it's on July 9. In 2017, it's on June 29.
The focus of the celebrations includes dying garments,drinking local home-made glutinous rice wine (sweet wine), viewing Longsheng Rice Terraces, Yao Women Long Hair Show, singing, dancing and wedding ceremony.
