Tongli Town Jiangsu

Tongli, a superb place and it is a mini Venice. It is located in Wujiang County, on the southern outskirts of Suzhou and about an hour drive from Shanghai. With a history of over 1000 years, Tongli's streets are supplemented by rivers, upon which numerous boats float back and forth. Its 20 ancient bridges of the Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing dynasties join the town into an integrated whole. More than 40 percent of Tonli's architecture was constructed during the Ming and Qing dynasties. The most noted structures are the Two-Hall-Three-Bridge, Tuisi Garden (Garden of Retreat and Reflection), the Former Residence of Jicheng, Gengle Hall, and Huancui Villa.
