Located in the eastern suburb of Xi'an, the Banpo Museum is the first on-the-site museum built in China. The Banpo Site was discovered in 1953, it reflects the prosperity of the matriarchal clan society 6,000 to 7,000 years ago. It is the most complete and typical Neolithic village remains in China.
