National Immigration Administration Announces Full Resumption of Fast Customs Clearance at Ports from May 15
On May 11th, the National Immigration Administration of China made an announcement regarding the adjustment and optimization of exit and entry management policies and measures. These changes will come into effect from May 15, 2023 to facilitate entry and exit exchanges between Chinese and foreign personnel.
One of the measures proposed is to fully resume fast customs clearance at ports. The express channel for border inspection will be open to Chinese citizens with Exit-Entry Permits for Travelling to and from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, as well as foreign nationals with foreign passports, Foreigner's Permanent Residence Cards, foreign electronic passports, and residence permits valid for at least 6 months in China. Additionally, foreign crew members who are visa-exempt or have obtained employment visas or residence permits exceeding one year in validity are also allowed to use this channel.
