A press conference on the 2023 Hunan International Cultural Tourism Festival and Serial Activities in Memory of the 2300th Anniversary of the Death of Qu Yuan was held in Changsha on the afternoon of June 8. It announced that the festival will take place at Miluo River International Dragon Boat Racing Center in Miluo City, Yueyang City between June 20 and 22.

The theme of the festival is "Welcome to Charming Hunan and Take Boat Tour in Miluo". A series of "4+6" activities will be held to showcase cultural tourism resources, promote cultural tourism products, and demonstrate new formats and achievements in the development of the cultural and tourism industry in Miluo.

The four major activities are:

-- Opening ceremony of the 2023 Hunan International Cultural Tourism Festival;

-- "Our Festival—Duanwu" Themed Activities and Miluo River International Dragon Boat Invitational Tournament;

-- An intangible cultural heritage exhibition (a memorial ceremony at Quzi Temple); and,

-- An academic symposium on Qu Yuan spirit and its value of times.

The six serial activities include:

-- Take quality travel routes to explore Hunan;

-- Yueyang cultural creative products exhibition and food tasting;

-- 2023 Hunan (Yueyang) Crayfish Industry Exposition;

-- An activity of encountering in Junshan Island;

-- 2023 Yueyang Wild Lotus Tourism Season;

-- Baling fish cooking contest.

The festival is hosted by the Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the CPC Yueyang Municipal Committee and the People's Government of Yueyang City, and organized by the Yueyang Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio and Television and the People's Government of Miluo City.
