The 2023 Harbin International Music and Culture Industry Expo Will Kick Off on September 8th
As one of the important sectors of the 36th China·Harbin Summer Concert, the 2023 Harbin International Music and Culture Industry Expo will be held from September 8th to 11th at the Harbin International Convention and Exhibition Center. At the press conference of the 2023 Harbin International Music and Culture Industry Expo held on September 1st, Huang Dawei, Deputy Director of the Harbin Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, and Tourism, introduced the overall situation of this Music Expo.
Guided by Xi Jinping’s Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for the New Era, this Music Expo deeply implements the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, with the theme of “co-creating a new platform for the music industry, sharing new opportunities for a better life”. Taking advantage of the international status of the world’s “music city” and the international influence of the “Harbin Summer” concert, it seizes the opportunity for Harbin to be selected as a national foreign cultural and trade base, fully leverages musical and cultural resources and geographical advantages in Harbin, gathers famous musical and cultural enterprises, brands, celebrities, and teachers at home and abroad, in order to strenuously build an international musical and cultural full industry chain trade platform and a musical and cultural exchange and cooperation platform in Northeast Asian region.
This year’s Music Expo is jointly guided by the Industry Development Department and the Art Department of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Propaganda Department of the Heilongjiang Provincial Party Committee, and the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, jointly organized by the Harbin Municipal People’s Government, the China Academy of Stage Arts, and the China Recording Artists Association, and jointly supported by 12 units including the China Musical Instrument Association and the China Cultural and Entertainment Industry Association. As one of the important sectors of the 36th China Harbin Summer Concert, the Music Expo successfully attracted the attendance of 108 exhibitors from 7 countries, of which foreign brand exhibits accounted for 40%. It successfully attracted a large number of overseas procurement representatives from Russia, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East, deeply promoting international exchanges in the music and cultural industry.
The Music Expo covers a total of exhibition area of 12,000 square meters, comprised of 8 main theme exhibition areas, namely the main image exhibition area (Harbin Music History and Culture and Music Cultural and Creative Exhibition Area), performance equipment exhibition area, audio-visual exhibition area, stage art design exhibition area, music creation and education exhibition area, music copyright and digital music exhibition area, international music culture exhibition area, and Chinese and Western musical instrument exhibition area. It has built up an entire industry chain consisting of music culture music creation, musical instrument production, training and education, audio-visual communication, and copyright trading, etc.
During the exchange and trade at the Music Expo, more than 30 supporting activities such as brand promotion meetings, classic master courses, characteristic music performances, theme investment promotion, opening ceremony of the Music Expo, and team field visits are also carried out simultaneously. It strives to create the first communication and trading event in the music and cultural industry in northern China, innovate and lead the construction of Harbin Music City, thus adding a strong touch of color to the “Harbin Summer” concert.
As an important participant in this Music Expo, Di Kai, Deputy Director of Harbin Comprehensive Bonded Zone, stated at the press conference that Harbin Comprehensive Bonded Zone would fully utilize the favorable opportunity of the first “Harbin International Music and Culture Industry Expo” as well as a newly approved national foreign cultural trade base in Harbin to fully leverage the bonded function and policy advantages of the comprehensive bonded zone and to build a trade platform based in Northeast Asia and facing the world for domestic and foreign music industry enterprises. In terms of the music and cultural industry, the Comprehensive Bonded Zone will provide comprehensive services for settled enterprises and assist them in exploring the Russian market, opening up trade channels with Russia, and taking full advantage of favorable policies for enterprises. Furthermore, it provides subsidies for international trade and processing trade, as well as rent reduction for warehouse and factory buildings for settled enterprises.
As the organizer of the 2023 Harbin International Music and Culture Industry Expo, Yu Binqiao, Deputy Director of the National Foreign Culture and Trade Base (Harbin), expressed at the press conference that the base would actively communicate and contact with international well-known music industry merchants (associations) and enterprises. Harbin will invite famous enterprises, brands, celebrities, and teachers to participate in the Music Expo to improve the internationalization level of the Music Expo, and promote cultural trade and exchange. In the future, with the base as the core, the city will make every effort to build an all-round opening system based on Northeast Asia, connecting Russia, expanding Southeast Asia, and radiating Europe, America and Africa, and it will further strengthen foreign cultural exchanges, expand foreign cultural trade, promote the export of Chinese culture to the north, enhance the influence of Chinese culture, and accelerate the all-round revitalization of Northeast China and the high-quality development of the “the Belt and Road”.
