Does Dagu national park opens in december? Any winter activities available? What is the temperature in December?

Answered by Trip China Guide    2014-05-13

The park opens all the year round, but the best time to visit the park for shutterbugs is Oct. - Nov. when all the leaves turn red, looks very beautiful. There are no winter activities in the park in Dec.. You can pay a visit to the Tibetan villages to experience Tibetan culture and custom if you go there in Dec.. The winter activities (skiing, skating) can only be done in Dongcuo Sun and Moon Lake (alt. 4,300) when the lake is frozen in Jan. - Apr. The average temperature of Dagu Glacier National Park (aka Dagu Glacier Scenic Area) is 4.3 degrees below zero centigrade. Annually, the park celebrates Dagu Glacier Ice and Snow Tourism Festival from Jan.to Feb., if you visit the park in this time you may find more activities to do (usually, the sponsors declare the activities as the festival approaches).
