Longsheng Lou at Kaiping Zili Village
The
Longsheng Lou was built in 1917 as a residential Diaolou by two brothers, Fang Wenlong and Wensheng. The brothers built the Diaolou on their return to the village from the United States. Comprising 3 storeys, the Longsheng Lou is built of reinforced concrete. The name of the Diaolou is taken from the last character of the two brothers' names meaning to excel like a Dragon. The most prominent feature is the eagles at the entrance on the gound floor. In June 2001, the building was declared by the State Council a protected Major National Cultural Heritage.
