Hi Andrew, in addition to just admiring the gorgeous scenery, you can visit several islands on Lugu Lake via large dugout canoes, which the Mosuo call "pig troughs". The canoes, which are rowed by Mosuo people who also serve as guides, generally take you out to Liwubi Island, the lake's largest. Out to the island and back is ¥40 pp, ¥45 if you want to be rowed around the island as well. The canoes can hold around 7 people, but the price should be the same regardless of how many of you there are. Canoes leave from near the Mosuo Yuan Hotel.
12 km west of Lugu Lake is Yongning Monastery, a lamasery with at least 20 lamas in residence. There is also a hot spring up around here.
Hope these help.
