What to Pack for a Trip to Shanghai

Before planning your trip to Shanghai, you must first check what the weather is going to be like. This will help you know the kind of clothes to pack for the trip, which you can find out from the internet or our page about climate of Shanghai.

Having surveyed our travel guides, our travel consultants, and the locals in Shanghai, we know personally to bring you this information. If you have a trip to Shanghai coming up, and you want to fit in, here are some useful suggestions for you.

If you're going to Shanghai in Oct. –Nov., a thermal jacket is a must! Or you can layer your clothes though this will entail a bulkier luggage! Boots come cheap in bazaars but it's safe to go around in rubber shoes or sneakers. Thick socks and gloves is also a necessity. Bring at least a jacket that can block off the chilly wind in winter.

Comfy shoes or closed-toe shoes are highly recommended. Good walking shoes with a little bit of fashion in them. Don't be fooled by the Chinese girls that wear heels all day. They are tiny and lightweight on their feet compared to most Americans

If you don't bring an umbrella, no worries--they'll be all over the streets for cheap. You can get almost anything here, even lots of familiar Western brands (H&M, Zara, and Marks & Spencer) though larger sizes can be more challenging.
