Yuantong Buddhist Temple

Yuantong Temple has undergone several renovations since the Ming and Qing dynasties. In 1956 it played host to a grand welcoming ceremony for the Buddha Teeth. As a famous Buddhist temple with Yunnan characteristics, Yuantong Temple was listed in 1983 as one of the key Buddhist temples in Chinese-Han inhabited areas of China and has enjoyed a broad popularity in Southeast Asia too.
