It is very cold in winter. And in spring it is often bit cold and snowy. In summer, Datong is tinged with a variety of color in summer as a result of the lush flowers and trees. And visitors could climb mountain to avoid summer heat. And in the crisp autumn it is the time for crop harvest with a golden sight. Please note that the temperature in Datong normally changes sharply between day and night; therefore it is highly advisable that a thick overcoat should be taken to keep out the cold, even in summer.
