Zhangjiajie Bailong Elevator
The Bailong Elevator (Hundred Dragons Elevator) is a glass elevator built onto the side of a huge cliff in the Wulingyuan Scenic Area of Zhangjiajie. Measuring 330 m in height, it is claimed to be the highest and heaviest outdoor elevator in the world. The elevator was constructed by Ragger, a German company in October 1999, and it was opened to the public in 2002.
The Bailong Elevator has set three Guinness World Records - World's tallest full-exposure outdoor elevator, world's tallest double-deck sightseeing elevator and world's fastest (1′58″) passenger elevator with biggest carrying capacity (48 people at a time). The elevator adds a special experience for the tourists who go to the Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. By the elevator, tourists can enjoy the breathtaking scenery in Yuanjiajie Scenic Area, Wulongzhai Scenic Area, Tianzi Mountain and the Golden Whip Stream.
