Gate of Good Fortune (Jingyun men)
In the
Qing dynasty, except for officials on duty or those who has been summoned for audience, no one was allowed to enter this gate without a thorough check. In order to ensure the security of the Inner Court, all comers had to halt 20 paces from the doors and state their business to messengers.
