Golden Triangle China - a hot tourist circuit for first-time foreign tourists visiting China

China's Golden Triangle is a tourist circuit which includes: Beijing, Xian, and Shanghai. These trips usually last 8 or 9 days and do the trip as a circuit starting and ending in Beijing or Shanghai. Flights and hotels are often included in the price, and it is normally possible to do the trip by coach or private car/van through most tour operators. The Golden Triangle is now a well travelled route, hosting many of China's great cultural gems, and providing a good spectrum of the country's different landscapes.

The Golden Triangle is so called because of the triangular shape formed by the locations of Beijing, Xian and Shanghai on the map of China. Most tourists fly from Beijing, explore the historical sites, such as the Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, different sections of the Great Wall etc., then west, to Xian to admire the Terracotta Warriors and Horses, and then ending the trip in Shanghai, a metropolis featured cultural flavor of the East and West. These three cities are extremely popular as tourist destinations among the foreign tourists visiting China.
