Yes, if you want to use your mobile phone in China, you have two choice to buy GSM SIM card or to buy charging card. If you buy SIM card, there is no document required but you need prepaid charge and you have to use up that amount of prepaid charge before indicated date. There are two kinds of SIM cards, Shenzhouxing issued by China Mobile and Ruyitong issued by China Unicom. You can also buy charging card in amount of 50RMB and 100RMB to recharge in post offices, stores and newsstands easily.
