Cheng's Three Houses

Built in Ming Dynasty, Cheng's Three Houses are located at downtown of Huangshan City and have a history of 400 – 600 years. They were officially approved as a key Culture Relics Protected Unit of China in 2001. The houses are brick-wood structured with binary courtyards. The roofs are covered with butterfly-shaped tiles and enclosed surrounding walls give residents a safe sense. Inside the house, you may enjoy fine-decorated flower screens, banisters of stairs, carved beams and painted rafters. The craftsmanship of the architecture is graceful and elegant, smart and grand, which represents the brilliant, splendid local culture and wealth of Huizhou merchants. The Cheng's Three Houses are regarded as the finest example of ancient local residence of Ming Dynasty by many specialists.
