Jingjiang Princes' City
Jingjiang Princes'City also known as Jingjiang Prince's Mansion, is located in the center of Guilin and surrounded by walls, it was actually the inner city of Guilin that was occupied by the princes and their families. The first Ming Emperor gave each of his 24 sons a region to govern in a bid to centralize his power, naming them kings in the process. King Jingjiang received his title and proceeded to build his mansion at the bottom of Solitary Beauty Peak. The construction of the mansion started in 1372 AD in early Ming Dynasty. 14 princes of 11 generations had lived here in the whole Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). During Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), this mansion was converted into the provincial examination house. Right now it is one of the Campuses of Guangxi Normal University.
