Lingxing Gates in the Front of the Circular Mound Altar
These are made of white marble in the walls surrounding the ancient altars;their form is similar to that of monumental archways. The outer and inner surrounding walls of the Circular Mound are pierced with four groups of gates, each group with three gates. There are eight groups of Lingxing gates (24 in all) known as "the Cloud Gates Forming a Jade Forest."
