The Ancient Willows on the West Dyke in Beijing Summer Palace
First planted during Emperor Qianlong's reign (1736-1796), these are the oldest and largest group of ancient willows in the
Beijing area. Today, this group of 19 trees constitutes an important evidence of the plants and scenery along the West Dyke (West Causeway)during the period of Qingyi Yuan (Garden of Clear Ripples).
